What Do I Add For A LESS Bumpy Ride?

Va's roads are starting to rival those in the north.

This truck rides fine on good pavement or gravel, but a stretch of patched road or over a rough bridge seems like riding a bull.

I replaced the factory shocks with 2 in Bilstein 5100s to compensate for the 2 in level.

I also recently put a steering brace on, which helped with some slop.

    I'm now looking at stabilizers.

The factory one looks pretty ragged.

I'm going with Fox but want some input as to either dual or single.

Also, what are some opinions on adjustable drag/track bars?

How much do they help the front end?

The best thing I ever did was install Thuren 2 inch Springs and their Stabilizer Bar.

Then let out all the air you can from the rear tires if you're not hauling.

    @DDP hooked me up.

Sorry for the delay; things have been hectic!

Yes, sir, we can definitely get you set up with some great suspension that will make that truck ride like butter!

Putting weight in the bed will smooth out the ride once you get into shocks and such,

I would look into either Thuren or Carli coils and their custom-tuned shocks to go with it.

    They are hard to beat.

Same with the adjustable trackbar, Carli and Thuren both offer them and are far better than stock.

May even want to check out their sway bars as well. When it comes to a stabilizer I prefer single over dual. Just spend the extra money and buy a custom tuned one.

Re: What Do I Add For A LESS Bumpy Ride?

Definitely take the air out of the tires. I run 45/40 f/r when not towing.

If you are going a while w/o towing, go ahead and take the sway bar off.

I only had a front sway bar on my 2016 3500.

    Easy off - easy on.

I plan on getting another 5th wheel at some point, and then I'll either get a Carli or Thuren or go ahead and re-install the stock sway bar.

Based on the little research I've done, I'm hearing Thuren is softer than Carli, but I think shocks also play a big part in that.

Get the best shocks you can afford - Fox or Kings - I have the Fox IFP.

Saved quite a bit over Kings.

    Good luck!

Re: What Do I Add For A LESS Bumpy Ride?

I aired down to 40 on both the f/r a month or so ago, and it was like riding on marshmallows.

It didn't feel right, and the tires had a lot of sag in them.

I'll drop it down to 50-53 cold and see how that does.

I'm leaning towards a dual fox stabilizer setup, but since i have Bilstein shocks, I'm wondering if I shouldn't go with their stabilizer kit.

The only reason I'm hesitant is that I've read some iffy things about their stabilizers and nothing bad about Fox.
