I can not believe more guys are not offering Allison swap conversion harnesses.

For the purpose of having a truck that you drive daily and not a race truck, I think it is a great alternative to a $15000 68RFE.

It also seems to be working out well for trucks getting beatdowns.

The Aisin is not tunable but at least holds up like the 68RFE should have from the factory.

Regarding the 68RFE, I could care less about making my truck shift perfect like a car if it is not reliable for the long haul once I make good power.

The Allison may cost more upfront, but at least you can throw in a cheaper replacement when it fails.

I was looking at 48re swaps, which are good too, but I think for my application a NV/G56 is the best ATM.

If I get a medium duty in a few years and I can take the workloads off my 4th Gen, maybe I will look into an auto swap.

I think someone should build a bigger housing for 68RFE and expand clutches, maybe figure out a way to combine the weak 5th and 6th and convert it to a 5-speed.

Until more tech comes out for 68RFE, I think the Allison swap will become more common.

I wish I could go that route now.
