Truck Floats All Over Road At 55-60 MPH

I recently put on a 2 in leveling kit, new 35x12.50s, and Bilstein 5100s upfront and had it aligned; doing so, I developed an issue I didn't notice before.

Going down a 2 lane around 55-60 mph, i have noticed the truck following the crown or imperfections of the road.

It's not an overly aggressive or constant pull; there's no pull with brakes, and it's difficult to explain.

It just requires constant attention and adjustment, more so than normal.

My steering wheel sits slightly off-center around 11 o'clock due to drag bar nuts been welded for the recall issue with the original owner had this done.

On the interstate, however, this problem doesn't exist.

The tires are mud tread, but I had them road force balanced when bought, and I run 65 psi on all 4 corners.

I'm going to change the front sway bar bushings soon and an adjustable drag bar and new steering stabilizer.

The last truck i had the same setup except it was a 1500 and had none of these issues, but it did have a different suspension design and half the weight upfront.

Is this just the nature of the beast, and am I too picky, or am I looking at worn-out or stressed parts?

I had this same issue on my TJ, and after I did all the above minus the trackbar, my issue was resolved for the most part.

Check the track bar, plus rotate the tires front to rear to see if that resolves the issue.

What leveling kit you go with?

I've swapped tires to a Tuff Country.

I went with 2 inches over shocks instead of factory.

O fig at 85k, they had seen better days.

I'm leaning towards the track bar myself.

It's not a real aggressive walk but still annoying and gets old.

The steering stabilizer looks pretty rough too.

Are the steering box braces worth the money?

If you've never had big tires before, you may just be noticing the effect of them.

Those tires are heavy and have more of a mind of their own than your old stocker road tires.

I could try a steering stabilizer.

Check the air in all 4.

Even a couple of pounds difference between tires can pull you all over the road.

Mine did the same until I set them to Thuren Specs.

I would definitely look at your track bar as well.

TurboWhistle, what did u set to specs?

Just about any truck, I've ever had has had big tires.

This feels like it's somewhat tire psi-related.

I've been messing with the tire pressure trying to get the same number on all 4, but with the hot, humid weather, we have had it been a pain even in the mornings after it's sat all night.

What are some numbers you all run if you have a similar setup tire-wise?

I run mine around 50 psi, but we have different setups for sure.

I run mine at 60 psi. I ended up with 4.0 degrees of caster.

I found it to be the sweet spot I was happy with.

    What size wheel?

Your tire pressure should be the same in the front and the same in the back but seldom the same from front to back.

Typically I will experience wheel float if I don't drop the rear pressure by 20 ish.

I have a much larger tire on a somewhat skinny wheel, though; that's why I ask.

Ram will remove the weld and let you realign, then reweld free of charge, by the way.

Or if your alignment shop will cut the weld ram will still reweld it.

It is an ongoing fix, not a one-time deal, so it's still covered.
