2008 Cummins New Nozzles Wet Knock Won't Start

I'm working on my brother's truck because it had a dry miss on one cylinder.

We determined that one injector #5, I think, was clogged (no surprise, really).

We re-installed all-new 100hp nozzles and his injectors after having them cleaned and nozzles professionally installed.

    I forget who did it.

I can find out which company if it is necessary.

    We'll know I got a new problem.

The truck won't start, I'm assuming, because of low fuel pressure, and the engine fires on one cylinder every revolution tons of smoke.

So I figure one is probably hung open.

I unplugged both injector bank plugs from the valve cover gasket, and it still fires just the same.

So I guess one is hung open, or the copper washer isn't sealing.

New washers btw old ones accounted for.

Is it possible that the washer not sealing would allow fuel to bypass?

And does anyone know a way to isolate 1 injector without sending them all off again?

    Update.

I have decided to pull the exhaust manifold and look for fuel or smoke from an individual cylinder.

    Please keep us posted.

Is there an incorrect washer that could be causing the fuel to dump?

I'm not aware unless the copper crush washer isn't seated right, including the orange on the injector.

Worst case scenario, I guess cracked head.

Recheck your feed tube's torque sequence is critical for that.

Did you use new o rings?

    I'm sure he did.

I had a diesel mechanic do the work.

I'm just going back and fixing it.

And feed tubes is-seated wouldn't cause fuel spillage into a cylinder.

Well. It turns out it is oil that the engine is firing on. Not fuel. Cyl# 5 has a ton of oil passing through it but still has good compression. Or at least good enough to ignite oil on a 70* cold engine. (Stored indoors) the truck was parked with a dry knock and now after injectors is pouring oil from the one cylinder. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm saying head gasket bc there is coolant at about 10% in the mix and the compression is good enough to ignite oil/water mix. The engine is studded (arp 2000) but also maxes out the guage at 60 psi boost very easily. I should also mention that it has about 1500 miles on the current head gasket. And my brother confessed today that the day it started skipping he did a 25 minute pull sustaining 35-40 psi boost. I didn't know.

    Forgive my language but fml.

What you describe it sounds possibly like a head gasket or a cracked head.
