Wasn't there a difference in the 2008 heads making them easier to blow gaskets?

Would a head off of a 4th Gen or later model work?

That I don’t know the answer to.

Hopefully, someone on here can chime in that knows that answer.

So after the teardown, I found no evidence of foul play anywhere.

Nothing but a quart/minute of oil with no cracks or evidence of a delaminated head gasket is wow.

What I did find is this.

ALL 6 PISTONS OFFER 0 CLEARANCE TO THE HEAD and appear to be 2-5 thousandths above the cylinder wall.

Can anyone offer what squish is supposed to be in play with these engines?

I'm assuming that the P. O. decked the cylinders for compression, and they are smacking the head.

There is no evidence of valve contact, but the head shows slight deformation that will mill out.

Also, can someone advise on a thick head gasket to use in this circumstance?
