Radio Malfunction - 2013 RAM Bighorn

    I have a 2013 2500 Bighorn with an 8.4 screen.

I keep getting an error on the screen that the truck's phone needs service.

Also, it is happening about every time that I start the truck, and the screen will take about 5-10 minutes to turn on.

I think it's time for a new head unit.

Curious if anyone else has been down this path.

If it is the head unit, what would be a good replacement.

    I like the Tesla-style radios; I just don't know about their dependability/warranty.

    Thanks all.

Have you tried a soft restart to see if this resolves your issue?

Also you mention your phone, check to make sure you have the latest updates on your phone and do a restart on it also.

    Sometimes that helps with connectivity.

It is the vehicle phone that the error is coming from.

I did a uconnect update via sd card when I got the truck last October.

I just started having this issue about 6 weeks ago.

Well, I tried the soft restart and the same results.

The screen doesn't turn on for 30-60 seconds.

    A/C controls still work

Randomly I get an error on the screen that says the vehicle phone needs dealer service.

Any further help would be appreciated.
