    Start / No Idle - 2015 RAM 2500

    Sorry if there's already a thread on this; I haven't really found it.

    2015 RAM 2500 all stock except for a RaceME Ultra I bought from Big Bang Injection and put in yesterday.

    All was well until I went for a long(ish) test ride.

    Half throttle acceleration, and the truck died around 70MPH.

    Pulled over, started right back up, and died after about 5 seconds.

    Every 3 or 4 attempts to start, it will crank and not fire.

    I remember seeing a low rail pressure message either on the tuner or from the truck, but it was brief, and I haven't seen it again.

    I put the stock tune back in, and no change.

    I went back and forth a few times, thinking maybe the tune didn't take.

    This morning, I came back to the truck and loaded the stock tune, ensuring the battery voltage stayed at/above 12.7.

    It started right up and ran for about 2 minutes before dying and going back to the same, only running for maybe 5 seconds.

    I did manage to observe rail pressures a few times and saw up to 6500 ish then slowly falls and dies.

    At one point, with the engine off, the fuel pressure was bouncing between 50 and 65700, which makes me think maybe the pressure sensor, but that was the one time.

    I spoke to RaceME, and he said speak to Big Bang Injection.

    They say it's nothing with the tune.

    Just trying to diagnose.

    I don't know if it is the tune, not likely since the stock flash produces the same results.

    Any thoughts?

    When hard cranking, what's your rail pressure at should be cranking over 4k psi.

    When it does run, is there knocking as it tries to idle before idling?

    The pressure value jumping up to 65k spike mine has always done that think it's just the value when sitting with the key on.

    Have you tried unplugging your FCA to see if it makes a difference?

    Any codes?

    Are you confident your fuel filters are okay?

    Fuel filters have maybe 3k miles on them.

    I suppose I could change them but got fuel from the same station I always do.

    Just standard box tune in the raceme.

    No codes, no CEL/MIL.

    It will crank until it hits about 4300, then kick over.

    It might hit 5300 before it drops pressure and cuts out.

    I did unplug the FCA, and it made no difference.

    I don't think I hear any knocking. It all sounds normal.

    It's almost as if the shut-down circuit is activated.

    Update: Tried 3 times this morning to start.

    When it first fires off, it read 4300 when commanded is 4500, which seems fine.

    As soon as it fires off, it holds 3400 for about a seconds, and then the pressure fades out.

    Is this a PLV?

    Everything I've read is more of a rough idle poor performance scenario than just not running.

    Well, ya'll called it.

    It was a combination of bad fuel/fuel filters.

    The same station I always use and the filters had less than 3k miles on them so I figured that couldn't be the case, but she's back on the road!
