I've not thought of the Allison.
Is it good for Racing?
Or just towing?

I've only heard good things about Allison's and only bad things about Dodge automatics, LOL.
Be a unique build for ya seeing how you are going all out.
Attached is a good setup, just gotta search for a conversion kit to fit in your truck.
If I had an automatic, I'd think about making the switch.

I'm going to look into this before buying a 48RE.
Thanks I'd rather have a 6 speed than a four-speed.
I wonder if Revmax would take a 68 core for buying an Allison.

I'm wondering the same thing, LOL.
Most likely, I'll keep my 68RFE and pay the core charge.
My truck came from my Father in Law, and he left me his Dually.
I can't get rid of the truck because he passed away from stage 4 cancer from his chest down to his waist, and I promised him I would keep the truck for good.
I will pass it down to my Daughter when I pass away.
My 08 RAM Dually will stay in the family forever.
I think I'd buy the Revmax 68 if you were going to absorb the core charge cost anyways.

I got a quote from those Detroked guys on their Allison conversion kit: $6700.
You still need the actual transmission, driveshafts, and labor, and you said you're going to pay the core charge, so another $2k.
Getting way up there on cost in that scenario.
