    Both batteries were load tested and are good.

    After more time.

    The starter relay in the fuse panel is clicking when the key is turned, but the starter is not turning.

    After the start yesterday, the truck has not restarted.

    Not turned over or anything.

    I’ve read on the WIC/WMC errors; just not completely sure that’s it.

    Today I did finally get a DTC on my MM3.

    The code P2509 may have been generated when you removed the batteries for load testing, so I would clear it and see if it comes back.

    I will test starter circuit #9.

    That’s the diagnosis that fits the bill.

    Unfortunately, I don’t have a scanner that will allow me to see all the can-bus systems.

    I’m a network tech by trade and am under the gun at work with projects and all that jazz.

    I’m just trying to fix my own mechanical issues.

    Is there a scanner that is preferred that’s reasonably priced for home personal use?

    You will likely need a scope for the CAN Bus, but to check all modules for codes, I like the Windows PC-based Autoenginuity scan tool with the Chrysler enhancement.

    I’ve ordered my odb2 Bluetooth device and hope to have it tomorrow.

    Then I will download alpha OBD.

    I just wasn’t sure what all it would show / test.

    So after going through the diag pdf that you suggested.

    I’m glad/ sad to say that I found the issue.

    Voltages were all correct.

    Circuit all the way to the starter is verified.

    I’m sad to say that I didn’t check this earlier.

    The starter is bad; a few taps, and it would crank.

    After a few on and off cycles, you would hear the starter click and no turn.

    A few taps, and it would crank.

    So what’s everyone's option on reman vs. new?

    I know the Mopar starter shows for about $650, and a reman from the parts store is $200.

    Personally, I would not recommend a remanufactured starter unless you enjoy replacing them…LOL.

    I am figuring you probably had the factory original installed for the last 10 years.

    So I would go with another Mopar.

    There are some other manufacturers available that may be better and perhaps cheaper so hopefully, someone will chime in but I would definitely not go remanufactured.

    One other thing you may want to do is check with a Cummins parts supplier to see what they charge for the starter as opposed to the dealership.
