Re: Need Help - Steering Knuckle Issues

I'm gonna look at it harder tomorrow.

I'm still waiting on the new nut to come from synergy.

They sent me one that was cracked.

Also, two new u bolts for the steering stabilizer that i snapped off trying to get that torqued down.

The past few days have been getting the rear end all set up.

Got Carlie to add packs and the long travel airbags all set up.

    Looks pretty good so far.

If so, put a nylon lock nut on it.

That’s how all the newer 2500-5500 come from the factory now.

So the taper does not fit.

I can fully torque the rod end the break that torque back off, and the rod end falls back out of the spindle.

All the other rod ends, once torqued in, are rock-solid in there.

Now in the process of trying to find a new spindle.

If anyone knows where I can get one, I would really appreciate the tip!

I'm gonna have to see if they have the 4wd ones.

I can find right hand all day, but for some reason, no left side ones.

I can't believe how hard it is to find this part.

I have literally been looking for days calling tons of scrap yards and still nothing.

Here’s an idea - some aftermarket guys sell Hemi joint tie rod ends, and they require the taper to be drilled out straight with their hardware.

That may be a good way for you to keep your knuckle and still resolve the problem of the screwed-up taper.

    That's not a bad idea.

I've seen them before just didn't put the two together.

I'm gonna look into that as well!

I finally got the steering knuckle problem solved.

I had a local machine shop make me a tapered sleeve and pressed it into the old hole.

    Everything fits perfectly!

Only charged me 150 bucks too!
