    Torque Converter 68RFE

Looking at getting a new torque converter.

I would just like some opinions on what converter and brand i should look at getting.

The truck is deleted and has an S&B intake.

Do a little towing here and there but mostly a daily driver.

As far as I know, trans is completely stock.

I would recommend getting a VB when you do your converter.

I have a DPC low stall triple disc and billet flex plate that works awesome (Firepunk diesel uses).

I had to adjust my trans tune when I installed the triple-disc converter.

I’d recommend just getting a valve body and trans tunes.

I would wait on getting a TQ converter until you need a rebuild.

If you are set on getting one, get a multi-disc, not a triple.

With the triple, you need a billet input shaft.

Good advice above - My common sense tells me If I had no intentions of making big power and only towed light/medium on rare occasions.

A High-Quality, Valve Body Kit & Quality Trans Tunes would be my first thoughts - as well as Treat Her Like a True Lady & Drive her like a Civilized Human Being!

Otherwise - I would purchase an already Built Trans - suiting my future driving wants & needs along with the very important Quality Trans Tunes!

(If Higher HP/TQ was my goal - as well as towing Med/Heavy quite often) ----> Though I would still drive her like a civilized human being - knowing I spent $$$$$$$$ getting her in this condition.

I was just thinking it was the torque converter because I get hard shifts every so often and it shakes when i give it throttle in 5th and 6th at low rpms

I assumed you were wanting to change converters just to upgrade.

If you pull the trans to replace the converter I would highly recommend getting a pump built for higher pressure.

At that point though it’s almost better to rebuild the whole trans.

Most converter clutch apply issues I’ve seen stem from worn valves in the pump.

    Tunes DRD.

Valve body Randy’s or Revmax gets my vote.

    I agree 100% -

I was trying to keep MY own Personal choices to myself!

My 68RFE is one project - I won't blink @ spending a little more on getting the Highest Quality / Most Reliable upgrades possible.

Revmax or DRT Transmissions - I have full confidence in.

Any Oklahoma members - I highly recommend
DRT transmission out of Oklahoma would be my next pick. Doryn McConnell is the builder and he’s an awesome dude who builds a great transmission. I Chat with him often via FB!

Revmax for VB and torque converter.

Do the VB first, then torque converter.

An upgraded converter will do nothing to ensure the longevity of the trans, and it will just hold up better than OEM.

To give that trans some love and longevity, do the VB and deep pan, then the converter.

Summed up the words from Tom@Revmax that he told me.
