    Diesel/Transmission Mechanic - Near Concord/Mooresville/Charlotte NC

Hey guys, I drove the other day to a job from south Alabama to Concord, and while in Atlanta rush hour, something in my clutch is GONE.

I managed to make it (had no choice), but stepping on my clutch pedal makes it squeal/grind, and sometimes you can't even get it to go into gear.

It will go into gear with the truck off, but you cannot shift unless you float the gears.

At first, I could use the clutch to shift, but it was sporadic, and then when you could, it would squeal and slip; if you went back into neutral and floated back into gear, no issues.

As I said, I had no choice but to make it because of a pre-job meeting that started today, and I traveled yesterday.

That being said, does anyone know a slick transmission mechanic?

I've got a lightly used SDD3250 I need to get installed, as well as some other stuff I'd like to get done preventatively.

U-joints, rear main seal if it needs replacing, valve lash adjustment, etc.

It needs to be within about 50 miles of Concord.

    Thanks, guys!

Does no one have any recommendations?

    My truck is undrivable.

I need to find someone soon!

You might have to get a feel from the locals about a good shop.

Things you want to be done don't seem like rocket science or anything that needs to be diagnosed.

I'd hope someone can point you the right way.

Although I'm 1000 miles away and not sure, I would recommend anyone within 50 miles of me right now.

That seems to be a growing problem in today's world.

Not from that area, but you could call Carolina Cat in Charlotte and see if they can repair your truck or at least point you in the right direction.

    Keep us, informed friend.

    Try Indian Land Transmission.

They are south of Charlotte and they seemed like good guys when they replaced my transmission.

They’re the shop that Revmax works with when you buy one of their transmissions locally.
