Replacing Ball Joints And Wheel Bearings

    I have a 2014 2500 4x4.

Does anyone know what sockets I need to do this?

Specifically, the axle nut and ball joints?

I have some 3/4” drive stuff want to make sure I have what I need before I tear into it.

I just did this 2 weeks ago on a 2011, but I believe they are the same.

    Axle nut is 43mm.

18, 21, 24, & 30mm for wheel bearing and hubs and ball joints and brakes.

I used an OTC 8031 Press kit for the ball joints, which much easier than a BFH.

Also needed some large open-end wrenches 15/16 and 1-1/8 for the ball joints (Carli)

Here's a good video from @CJC Off Road

Good luck. It's a chore but saved me at least $1k in labor cost.

FYI not sure if they changed but my 2014 2500 axle nut is about 34mm or 1-5/16.

Just sent my dad after another socket.

Edit: just realized you are changing ball joints, not u-joints!

    Sorry about that!

Just changed my u-joints and hubs. Axle nut was 1-11/16.

If you use an old socket and mall, the u-joints come right out, of course remove the c clip first.

Mine didn’t have c clips either.

They must have changed at some point.

I upgraded to offset ball joints several years back.

They do have c-clips and grease zerks!
