Nice work, you are making great progress.

Are you planning to add the exhaust brake with that new turbo or go without?

I'm thinking without due to cost, just waiting on tax return to come in to order stuff now I guess.

Sounds good, probably don’t need the exhaust brake unless you plan to tow heavy.

@DDP any advice on his choice of turbo, perhaps PM him on availability and price.

Thanks for the mention @AK Bob!

If you’re looking to go fixed blade the BD iron horn kit and exhaust brake is right in the $3100 range with no core needed.

This means you can sell your core and recoup some money.

What kind of power are you looking for?

I got some parts, and I'm gaining progress again.

I got the exhaust brake booger welded to the downpipe.

    Re: 2014 3500

Slow and steady wins the race.

I told the family I can't keep working every day I'm off anymore, so starting Saturday, I'll have normal days off again.

That downpipe was giving me problems.

I had to unbold the hanger bracket and take it completely off.

It shifted enough that it no longer lines up correctly.

Is that normal with these kits?

I thought I was following the directions fairly well.

I'm about to fill the turbo with oil and connect the oil feed line.

Sometimes you may need to loosen all your clamps so you can get everything to where it needs to be then retighten them.

When you fill the turbo with oil be sure to rotate the compressor wheel while filling and one the first start up let it idle for a min or two.

Got to do a preliminary test drive, I had a small exhaust leak at the downpipe.

I tried to adjust it and when I started tightening it back up the bolt on the v band clamp snapped.

My initial impression is wow, the truck never has had this much power.

It's stronger than my dad's deleted 08 Cummins for sure.

It's also too loud for my everyday tastes.

I ordered a 30" FTE Resonator and a new clamp, hopefully, they'll get here by Saturday.

Then hopefully after I get those on all I gotta do get the backpressure on the exhaust brake adjusted and put my fenders back, .

The truck should be a couple of hundred pounds lighter now anyways

    Re: 2014 3500

Still waiting on parts to show up.

I decided to "fix" my mom's truck door.

This used to be my grandpa's truck, and he side-swiped a tree 5-6 years ago, trying to back a trailer.

The outside door handle hasn't worked since then.

    Poorboys have poor ways LOL

I've been telling my mom to get a handle, and I would put it on forever.

I guess they don't want to buy a handle because Dad keeps saying he's gonna find a door at a salvage yard, but he hasn't ever done it.

    Now it definitely won't happen

It looks janky, but at least now you can open it without giving it a reach around.

    Re: 2014 3500

Get er rolling. Runs great, love the sound with the FTE 30. Stock ish volume at idle and louder enough when you get on it.

I've still got a slight leak at the front exhaust brake clamp, only when the exhaust brake engages(or pushing test).

Any tips? They're together good, and I didn't want to break the clamp by over tightening it. It's very minor, my EB was reading 100 HP on a big hill according to the dash, more than I ever got stock without having a trailer.

I'm gonna call it quits for tonight, I'll fight the fenders I'm tomorrow and double check for leaks, I had an antifreeze leak, I didn't get the clamp back on my heater hose .
