Regear To 4.30 Or 4.56 Gears?

    I have a 2010 2500 4x4 right now it's deleted with 8 inch lift on 37s.

It has a Mini Maxx for now going to be doing the MM3.

I do mostly city and moderate highway driving.

I do some towing it can range from 5k to 10k pounds maybe more then that but not very often.

I've been told to do the 4.30 gears. I do plan on doing a bigger turbo weather its a bigger VGT or 364 or 464 turbo and injectors and a built trans down the road.

Its daily driven and tows here and there.

I'm leaning towards the 4.30 gears.

    Thanks in advance.

4.56 is too much for 37.

It's perfect for towing on my 38s, you'll never do 80mph again if you go to 4:56

4.10 for higher speed freeway driving.

If you never go above 70 then go to 4.30 and you shouldn't be sacrificing to much on the fuel milage end and will be in the best shape for towing.

    VGT & 68RFE?

I'd do 4.56 if you use it as a minivan 4.88 towing.

VGT & G56? 430's are fine for minivan duty 4.56 towing.

    Non VGT?

The bigger it is the deeper the gear you need.

Re: Regear To 4.30 Or 4.56 Gears?

I have a very similar setup to you (Toyo R/T 37s, 68RFE, and tow a 8k trailer every so often) and went with AAM's 4.44 setup.

I am right at 2k RPM at 75 mph.

The big difference between us is I am at 5,500 ft and tow above 10,000, so I need the little lower ratio to climb easily.

In Florida, 4.30 or maybe even 4.10s would work.

    https://www.dieselhub.com/tech/rpm-calculator.html

This calculator will figure rpm at any speed with any tire, and gear ratio combination. The transmission ratio on a 68RFE is.......
    4th gear 1:1
    5th gear .82:1
    6th gear .63:1

So 37s with 4.30 at 65mph in 6th gear is right at 1600 rpm.
