    Clearing Perform Service Message

    Ok, whats the trick?

I changed my CCV filter about 60k and got the message at 65.

I looked it up and found the brake twice, accelerator twice method.

I’ve tried repeatedly and cannot get it to clear.

    Process i’ve tried
    - turn key to run
    -press brake pedal twice
    -press accelerator twice
    -turn key off

pressing both pedals to the floor, doing all this within 10 sec, even tried with the door open as I read that worked for someone.

    I think it's the following:

    1. Doors closed.
    2. Key on/not running
    3. SLOWLY push the throttle 3 times within 10 seconds.
    4. Turn key off.
    5. Open door.

If none of the above try this one. Please keep us posted.

Turn the key on run but don’t start.

    Press brake pedal 2 times.

Then fully press the fuel pedal 2 times within 10 seconds.

Turn key off then start the truck to make sure the msg is gone.

Ok, I got it after the 400th attempt.

It was the 2 brake, 2 accelerator method I’ve been trying all along.

The same one @AK Bob mentioned.

This time I pressed the brake to the floor and let it come back up until it stopped before pressing the second time then let it come back up again then onto the accelerator twice.

I think with the really cold weather the brake wasn't coming up before I pressed it the second time probably not registering as being pressed twice.

    Re: Clearing Perform Service Message

The I6 just turned the needed mileage for the Perform Service light to come on.

Ultimately, I had to go through the brake/fuel depressing process a dozen times before the light went off.

Now whether or not which time or what was correct, idk, but it’s now off.

Most likely, needing to repeat the process several times is what some of us may have to do.

Yes, I did replace the CCV filter, changed the oil/filter, and will, today or tomorrow, be replacing both fuel filters.

    Re: Clearing Perform Service Message

Is the CCV filter a different warning than the oil change one?

They want it done at 67,500, along with the EGR cleaning.

I did my CCV filter at 50K.

My oil change one comes on; I reset it by turning the key on, the engine off KOEO, and then pushing the accel pedal down three times, not fast, and it clears it.

Come to think of it, I think I have seen "Oil Change" on my EVIC, so maybe the 67,500 service is different, so clearing it would be different also.

Yes, I believe they are different, and the 67,500 service reset procedure is not the same as clearing the Oil Change notice.

    Re: Clearing Perform Service Message

    I changed my CCV.

I tried closing the doors and the key on.

Brake pedal twice, and accel pedal twice slowly, all within 10 seconds.

I tried it two times did not work.

I tried the below copied from another site.

    It worked 1st time.

"My son, a diesel mechanic by trade, cleared the code on his first try.

    Here is what he did:

Open the driver's door and keep it open during the entire sequence.

The TOTAL time for the following sequence is 10 seconds.

Turn the key on, push the break to pedal twice fast, then press the accelerator pedal twice quickly and turn the key off.

It must be accomplished in under 10 seconds total time.

Turn the key on and check the message center; the code should be gone.

Start the truck, and you should not see the code anymore.

    Walla, fixed!
