They highly recommend their process of machining the valve body flat with their CBN surfacer to less than 30ra.
No personal experience with the Kit you mentioned, but you may also want to consider these valve body studs as part of your rebuild.

Man, those are cool. I am a sucker for some fasteners.

They are pretty proud of them, though.

I think six fasteners are holding the valve body in, which puts me close to the same price per stud as ARP 425s.

I'll be running a max of 225psi of line pressure.

Even if you figure all three passageways on full and 1/2" ID, that comes out to 133lbs. of force over the whole valve body, or 22lbs; per fastener if that force were distributed evenly.

It seems like it might be excessive for my application. (Although, in addition to my affinity above for fasteners, I am also a fan of overkill).

    Has anybody used these yet?

I used the zero cav kit on almost every trans I built until the price went up.

I never had any problems with it.

I never had problems with stock filters, either, though.

Chris, I sent you a PM.

This is a great thread, and I saw the other post about the WP VB studs, another great thing to add if replacing the VB.
