    Drop Hitch

I got bought a weigh safe hitch it’s a 2.5 shank and rated for 18,500.

I think it was around $250 but I needed a 10 inch drop.

    I would have bought b&w but couldn’t find a 10 inch drop with a 2.5 shank.

I bought “bulletproof” hitch with the 2.5” shank.

    Has a 2” and 2 5/16 ball.

    I’m loving it.

I pull 14K so it was needed for me.

    Still a nice hitch.

Another vote for B&W stow and go.

    Best hitch’s out there.

The polished finish is super nice and cleans up well (I was worried about scratching it).

“Don’t worry my hitch was made in America!”

I run 8” drop leveled with 35s and usually have 1-2 more pins to drop below what I use which are bass boat, landscape, and ramp trailers.

I run the 3 ball now instead of 2 ball like in pics.

I'd be glad to get you a price on one if you’re interested.

    Re: Drop Hitch

    I run a B&W tow and stow.

It's the only hitch i would buy after owning them.

I use the 2 1/2 inch so it fits my hitch perfect.

I never stow it but i've pulled with it and it is just far enough out to clear my tailgates on all of my trailers.

I have the one with all three ball sizes so it keeps me from having to swap out my hitch.

I just pull a pin and rotate it to whatever size I need.

The only con is the price LOL.

My truck is leveled on 35's, so it sits a little higher. I have zero plans on going up any higher, but I'll need a good adjustable drop hitch.

I don't need one that can pull 20k pounds, as i don't own anything SUPER heavy.

Plans would be a trailer with an SxS on it.

Anything heavier than that will end up being a 5th wheel or gooseneck hitch.

Where should i order from or store to go to?
Is there some reason the hitch has to go with the trailer?

Unless you want an upgrade you don't have to use the WD part on lighter trailers.

This may not be what you are asking but from my experience in a similar situation I regretted letting my WD hitch go with my travel trailer years ago.

I never thought I would need one again but about 8 years later I found myself looking at travel trailers and buying another WD hitch let alone the times I could have used it for other things.

Just my .02 as we often forget about what may happen down the road.

There are some good options posted here either way.

I'm letting it go with the trailer because the next camper we get will be a 5'er.

Our camper (if you haven't seen the photo) isn't real heavy, but it came in handy with sway control on my old F150.

My Cummins I didn't even bother hooking up the bars because it was so light (3050 lbs empty/4500 lbs max without water).

I ended up with a 5'er as well but I still regretted selling the WD hitch when I did.

They are nice to have around and don't take up much space.

Maybe it's the practical side of me coming out with age.

    Happy Shopping!!

I have been using Bulletproof Hitches for all my trucks.

There is simply nothing comparable when it comes to peace of mind when hauling someone else's heavy boats across the worst roads in America.

This photo was taken BEFORE I lowered the front 1.5" to reduce any squat from loading.

    Re: Drop Hitch

I forgot to update this post.

I tried a hitch from my dad, and I'm glad I did.

    My hitch wasn't a 2.5" but a 2"!

I ended up getting a Curts drop hitch.

It still could go down another inch or two, but not bad.

When I get the SXS loaded on the trailer, it helps out, but still not enough weight on the arse end of the truck.

On wet pavement, I spun my rear tires while trying to get up to speed on the highway.

I guess that means I need to ditch the open trailer and get an enclosed one.
