It's a company truck, and it's crazy.
At least we have a spare.
Too bad the spare is an F550 with the 6.7L Powerlacker

Update: Boss opted to file lemon law, and now that the temperatures are warm enough, it is not generating the "Battery saver Mode" problem they are inspecting it.
I am not sure what to think.

A long-forgotten update and a more recent update, Lemon Law in NJ has to be allowed a final inspection to "verify repair or continued issue" that inspection was done in June.
Obviously, with the warm weather, they were not able to replicate the problem.
Well, it's November now, 30*F at night, and it is doing it again, back in contact with the lemon Law Lawyer as per the boss.

Try disabling the grid heater.
I bet the problem goes away.
It seems to be that the alternator is not keeping up with the grid heater cycling.
Could also be a poor electrical connection somewhere.
You don't need that stupid grid heater anyway.
The bolt will probably break off and end up on top of a piston; that is pretty much what they are suitable for.
I already went through that, and I can't just disable the grid heater as this is a business vehicle subject to all DOT regulations and inspections and travel to some cold places. (we just sent our other RAM 5500 up Well north into Canada).
On top of that, we already went through trying to track it down in its 4-month stay at a dealer, and then two months stay at another dealer.

Well, that stinks, but still, have you tried disconnecting the grid heater just as a quick test to see what happens?
I went through that, and it is okay until it hits about 0F, then it goes into battery saver.
With it connected, it goes into a battery saver at any temp below 30F.

Hmm.
Next, I would take a digital multimeter and hook it directly to a battery with the truck idling.
I would take a scan tool hooked to the OBD2 port, monitor the ECM voltage PID, and see if it matches what the DMM is reading.
Find out if you have low voltage or if the computer thinks you do.
