A CONCERNED 19-20 CUMMINS OWNER CALLED FCA IN REGARDS TO RECALLING THE CP4

They said they would put it in the system as a concern and would evaluate.

EVERY concerned 19-20 owner needs to take a few minutes out of their day and let their voice be heard.

All this shows is what parts a dealer is to order if they find metal in the fuel system under warranty.

Yeah but as you see where it says under restriction by star.

How star has to approve it.

So FCA has no control this is from star not FCA. So it’s star that’s fighting it.

Star is part of FCA.

Star is basically a help center for techs.

Parts go “star restriction” so they can confirm vehicles actually need the parts.

FCA has there own warranty department

Any part that is on a Cummins engine is warrantied through star. Any part that is out side of the engine is warrantied by FCA. Star will walk techs through when they can’t do it them selves. But it is still two separate departments. I’ve been a dealer since I was born. My family has been in dealers since 1950’s.

But it is still two separate departments. I’ve been a dealer since I was born. My family has been in dealers since 1950’s.

I’m a diesel tech at dealer have been since 08 I’m well aware of how star works. Star has their own section for Cummins that is true, But not everything on the Cummins motor goes thru star.

As far as the warranty going thru the manufacturing company yeah you are correct. Cummins pays for their warranty’s just like zf pays for the 8-9 speeds transmissions when we warranty them.
