EB Working Intermittently Since Installing Warp Tuning

    Hey there,

My exhaust brake started acting up so I replaced the actuator with one of Geno’s self calibrating types.

It worked at first but, now is hit and miss.

Sometimes on start up it will be stuck on and I can’t go over 10mph, rolling coal.

I have to shut it off and restart the truck.

It seems to be getting worse.

The truck is deleted with raceme and warp tunes.

Could it be a turbo full of soot at only 100,000 miles?

Looking forward to hearing from y’all.

    Great luck Sir,

I could only imagine the frustration.

Is Geno's garage offering any support and how long ago did you do this?

Us and Geno's are the two City Diesel dealers and we've not heard of this happening.

Has it done this since you installed it?

Have you contacted City Diesel in regards to this issue?

I remember from a previous post they have been very helpful with customer concerns and offer a two year warranty.

Please keep us posted on their response, I am sure many other users of this product will be interested in the cause of this issue.

Did the gear that the actuator moves move freely between stops when you installed it?

    Hey, nice to meet you!

Yes, it started very shortly after install.

It had been happening with the original oneplus throwing a code.

    That’s why I replaced it.

I even checked the butterfly left and right before I installed the actuator.

All seemed ok, had full motion.

Do you think it could be the tune?

All this started happening when I loaded the warp tunes.

Well since it was doing the same thing before I would think the tune is a possibility that should be ruled out.

How about returning to stock tune to test this theory.

No go and black smoke means no boost.

    Is it throwing any codes?

Also, when you restart the truck is it completely better until the next time you start it?

Doesn’t stock return it to when there were emissions?

No codes and yes, it gets better when restarting it.

Then happens again, on first start, the next time I go to drive it.
