    Ticking Sound Getting Worse

Hello all, sorry if this is posted in the wrong topic area, just that it’s getting worse by the week that I drive it and trying to find a solution!

So the truck is a 2015 6.7L Cummins with DRD Warp tuning, 5” exhaust with cold air, and deleted.

Otherwise stock. The truck has 70k miles.

I started to hear a ticking or, what some might say, the creaking sound on the driver's side inside the cab.

Mostly when the truck is sitting at idle or when at a stop sign and starting to take off or coming to a stop.

Nothing's changed with drivability, no hiccups.

Just trying to catch this issue before it becomes a large issue.

Now I can hear it outside of the truck at idle.

I took a video clip this morning of it.

    Possible noisy CP3?

In the coming week, I will have a 100gp FASS system I’ll be installing.

    Any ideas?

    Greatly appreciated.

I attached is a link to the YouTube video I uploaded.

What happens when you turn the A/C on?

I don't hear a tick, but a metallic grinding sound similar to a wore out pulley.

Just to rule it out, you could see if the sound is worse around the bell housing area.

The sound still present and doesn’t change when AC is on or off.

Check idler tensioner take tension off belt and wiggle tensioner if play that is your problem.

    I would start there.

with Fox IFP shocks, thuren sway bar, rear track bar and front track bar, Warn 12k winch , custom winch mount, REVMAX trans pan,HD valve body and thermal bypas. Leer truck topper,Exotic head studs, Engine enhancements by the cummins whisper.

I released tension off of the belt and moved the tensioner wheel left to right has slight movement less than 1/8th inch.

As for the whole tensioner it does move side to side but I believe that’s to be expected.

The sound is more of a creaking sound and only heard in the cab of the truck.

I actually believe the video attached is a separate issue I found this morning.

After the truck warmed up the sound went away.

I’m at a loss not sure what to go to from here.

So I believe I narrowed it down to the power steering.

Cold morning here in nj, 15 degrees the sound was much louder.

With a turn of the steering wheel and press of the brakes the sound gets much louder.

This morning I went to Napa and bought some lube guard.

Removed the same amount of fluid and replaced with lube guard.

Drove around about 20 miles, seems some what quieter but still there.

    Anyone have this issue?

How cold is your weather right now?

These magical beasts do create lots of sounds when cold.

At full temp and driven good and warm is the sound less?

    Worse when cold?

Giving a little throttle does sound change at all?

Trans in N change with or w out throttle?

Turning wheel just a hair change sound?

Moving forward or reverse w wheel turning change at all.

May have someone else do this as you listen.

You said deleted so just for kicks check all block off plates or whatever you installed for your version of deleted.

Get on a creeper and get underneath and check sound.

    All fluids checked.

These are the free things you can do.

    They hate the cold.

I would chalk it up to that.

I get paranoid about weird sounds sometimes, but it's a Cummins...they make noise.

agreed but this is not apart of the Cummins groan or moan.

I’ve uploaded a video as it has been getting louder.

This is with the steering locked to the right with gradual acceleration or with pressing the brakes.

So far I’ve replaced approx 2qts in the resivour and tightened down the hydro booster bolts.
