As stated above the reasons as to why are facts.

I use mine on auto every day and have since 8mi on the odo.

    My 15 was the same.

If my actuator fails though I will be going 2nd Gen swap and fixed geometry.

I hate how the exhaust brake sounds, especially on cold starts where the brake kicks in.

I can’t start my truck in the morning under 40* because it sounds like a GD Lear jet and I’ll get evicted LOL.

I just find the sound annoying but the functionality is on point.
Bwaa Haa ha, busted me up, wife lookin' at me laughing.

She shakes her head and says you and yer truck buddies.

    Still laughing!

All you guys and your newer trucks and green exhaust brake.

    2012 owners get a yellow/orange, and that's it, LOL.

    Re: Exhaust Brake Question

Does anyone know if you can program your exhaust brake to remain on between engine cycles?

    Mine has always stayed on.

I set it on "full on" mode when I picked up the truck at the dealership and it has been on ever since.

Same after the kitty went missing.

The whistle is super annoying in the mornings on cold start but I live in a rural area so it is no issue.

Sucks when at a campground though!

IDK how it works for auto transmissions, but before deleting/tuning, my truck would always return the EB back to off position automatically after I turned it off UNLESS a trailer was plugged.

I remember on the other forum some guys were leaving a 7 pin plug connected to fool the truck into thinking it was towing.

Agreed, my 2014 did not retain the exhaust brake “ON” setting between key cycles until it was programmed to do so.

Didn’t know about the trailer plug trick so never tried it.
