    Debadging?

It's been bugging me for awhile now.

I really want to remove the door emblems (RAM 2500 door emblem).

I know how to do it, but my worry is how badly my doors will be faded compared to the emblem area behind them.

Is there anything i can do to make the colors blend so there isn't a faded paint spot?

    Photo added for reference.

I used fishing wire and goo gone. Mine weren’t faded. If that helps.

Heat gun/hair dryer and some fishing line.

A rubber eraser wheel will get rid of any adhesive left over.

Just make sure you go slow or you'll damage the paint.

I'm going to try and take them off this weekend and see what type of fading is there.

With it being a '12 (8 year old truck) I'm just worried about the black being 'more black' under the door emblems LOL.

I can't imagine there being much for fading.

You'll probably have a more shiny spot where the badge was due to scratches/spider webbing in the clear.

A cut and buff would take care of that.

Sorry but there is no way to make a faded door match the new paint behind the emblem with out actually repainting your doors.

Even if you polish it will still be present.

    Hopefully it’s not faded.

If you have bed caps on your tailgate or bedside pull them up and see what it looks like.

It will be similar under that with your emblems.

I do have the plastic bed rails you are talking about, but sadly those have worn through the paint.

I need to get that spray in bedliner in ASAP.

I'm pretty sure you are correct on the fading though, and that's why i haven't done it yet.

However it is a black truck and i don't wash it every single week.

So maybe the road grime will keep it covered? LOL
