Closing this out. Rest of the job was easy, only minor issue was finding a place for the clutch master cylinder remote reservoir as my truck has all of the upfitter switch fuses in the way.
All in all my lessons learned:

1 - you absolutely can do this yourself in your driveway
2 - #1 assumes you have a nice trans jack, and don't need to necessarily take the trans out from under the truck. I didn't have enough clearance just having the front of the truck on ramps.
3 - oddly, it sounds like the truck starts easier/the starter doesn't work as hard with the new flywheel
4 - in line with the above, my truck idles quieter not having broken springs in the DMF
5 - being overly paranoid about torque specs, proper bellhousing alignment before bolting it up, etc paid off
6 - take your time if you can. I estimate it took me about 10 hours of actual work time
7 - I found the French fry I dropped in 2014 under the console

The clutch feels super smooth and actually easier to disengage than stock. Granted my stock throwout bearing was toast and there was a bunch if crap in the slave.

Hope all of this was helpful.

    - Steve

    Awesome.

    Thanks for update.

I would love to tackle this myself but I am unsure.

A little help would be nice but I'm just starting with my research.

Why did you choose the SBC single over the crowd favorites and how is it doing?

Nice thread. Possibly tackling the same thing in a few months. #7 with the fry no telling what's in mine.

I went with the single as for the most part I only use the truck to tow a lighter 11k trailer, and it isn't a daily driver anymore.

When I called SBC this is what they recommended, so figured they know best.

Too early to tell how it's doing, but I'll update the thread after a few thousand miles and some towing.

As I said previously though it certainly feels a little lighter than factory.

Feel free to post here or PM me with any questions!
