    2018 RAM 3500 Cummins 6.7L Getting 4MPG

    All, I have a 2018 ram 3500 chassis cab.

    It's bone stock.

I have noticed my mileage slowly degrading.

I am now getting 5-6 mpg towing the same trailer that I used to get 8-10.

    No codes.

    Has anyone experienced this?

Also, it has never shown on the display that it was doing a Regen which seems odd to me.

You could try changing out the fuel filters and air filter.

Those will decrease mileage if they are getting dirty.

Also the Regen does it automatically and won’t display unless it’s 90% full.

    Have you checked:
    1) truck brakes
    2) trailer brakes
    3) trailer wheel bearings

Just a small - in the wind suggestion. (This is something I would try)

I don't know how often you drive on the highway or interstate for an extended time (65-75mph) for an extended time.

Towing a med/heavy trailer while doing this would even be better - make her work decently hard this whole time - (Better scenario - more heat generated)

If you don't - take her on either of these roads and drive her for 30min @ those constant speeds - Get everything good & hot.

This is only a suggestion - if you already do this 2-3 times a week (normal driving style/habits) - then just ignore my post.

Just curious, are you ideling your truck . What i mean is .... here in idaho it is cold and I idel my truck for 15min in morning before I leave to allow it to warm up and clear windows, this drops fuel mileage a lot. It drops my mileage about 3mpg I let my truck adel in morning
and night before I leave to head home. something to take into account.

Idle time, winter blend fuel, dragging brake/wheel bearing are most common causes on a healthy truck.

    Another great point.

Winter fuel + idling is an MPG killer for sure, depending where you are located.
