    New Tires

I've had it with these Nexen tires

I've had 2 tires separate in 20,000 miles.

I want to put on a bigger tire than factory.

    Maybe a 285 75.

What brand and size spacer would y'all recommend?

I run Falken Wildpeak AT3W which has been excellent tires.

Snow rated and doesn’t hum on the highway.

I have about 23,000 miles on these so far with no issues.

I am very happy with my Goodyear Duratrac. I get good mileage when rotated regularly they are not loud and have good traction offroad.

Most people who run 285/70 -17 on a dually run a 2 inch spacer in the rear to keep front rubbing. Sorry my only dually still has some 7.50-16 on split rims. But I have seen and read people running the duratrac on duallys on their farm trucks and not have issues getting into there pastures and fields. I know for a fact they are excellent on single wheel trucks for when I have to get in my pastures.

    New Tires

A lot of folks run 255/80R17 on stock dually wheels. They are very close to touching without spacers but some people run them without spacers anyway. Some tire shops won’t put them on stock dually wheels since that tire is made for a 6.5” wide wheel.

I run Falken Wildpeak AT3W LT275/65R20 on aftermarket wheels (no spacers). I really like the Falkens. I’ve also had Duratracks on a SRW trucks and they were good to me.

Maybe it's just the picture, but those look terrible for 15k miles...

I was fixing to comment on that as well.
Only after 15K miles - those look like they would really struggle keeping traction on any surface but tarmac. (Just my observation from looking at the pic)
I do understand certain angles of Pics can be pretty deceiving.

My OEM set of Transforce has almost 13K miles traveled and still look practically new - Though they never leave the Tarmac and are rotated before each season change.
Which I believe once the tread depth gets at least to the half way mark or less - these tires are practically worthless.

Good thing is: There seems to be a good stiff competition going on now between a few of the major tire companies - when it comes to the ideal All-Terrain or even the new Hybrid (All- Terrain) tires. ---> Ideal situation for Truck owners!

We have a large parking lot at the plant with over 137 employees - and there are alot of 2500 & 3500 4WD making up over half of those.
Doing a bit of snooping - (Looking around) - The Nitto Ridge Grappler seems to be extremely popular amongst these Trucks.

Of course My OCD now will not let me even think of buying this tire - due to every other Truck at the plant has them mounted & balanced.
Main goal will be finding a 20" set that does not cost me - 2 full paychecks and my left Kidney to get out the door.

Being in OK - we have been pounded with Ice the last 3 days and raining now with 28*F temps - these OEM Transforce tires are totally Horrid on ice. (Saving grace is the Actual Working ---> (Anti-Slip rear axle & 4WD) - (Leaving the Traction Control fully on was honestly been a benefit)

I will be looking for a All-Terrain with a decently soft compound and a butt load of siping.
Having these firm Bilstein shocks really help keep the full contact patch of each tire fully planted.

Yea it is the picture I was in a hurry taking it and the main camera on my phone is acting up so I had to use the screen side camera to get the picture.

I'll use my tread depth gauge later and get actual depth.
