    P226C Questions

    Hey there fellas.

I did read as much search as I could find on this subject, but still have questions tho.

2016 RAM and 2500 MM3 tune ‘ghost deleted.

The truck has 112k on it, been tuned around 42k now with no problems up until now cel light code 226C.

This truck sees quite a bit of towing btw 2-3 k a week and I use the exhaust Brake all the time.

I noticed recently that with a cruise on it has a hard time keeping speed ‘like it’s slow to respond if that makes any sense.

In hindsight that’s the only thing, I’ve noticed. about this cel light P seems power, boost everything else seems normal.

On a side note for Ray trans tune could use some adjustments ‘ but that’s a whole other story?

So I guess my question is should do the coolant drain etc and pull the actuator and check turbo shaft movement /travel and end up changing to city diesel controller and or turbo replacement whatever I find out with inspection?

Also, is the tune in question at all w sooting things up possibly from idling or?

Any other user input is much-appreciated fellas.

    Thanx,
    Brian

So when you clear the P226C code does it come back right away?

If so then I would do as you described.

I have had this code pop up twice this year approximately 6 months apart.

I ran some Archoil cleaner P/N AR6400-D after the last code in June.

Still continue to monitor and exercise the turbo vane for now.

Right now mine is too random to justify the expense but I believe you are on the right track.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

As far as the tune concern, I believe the damage was done before by the EGR pumping the soot back through the engine.

We are running much cleaner now.

Actually I tried to clear code but it didn’t seem to work.

Honestly not sure if I’m doing it right w the MM3 screen in?

Do I need to plug in license cord also to modify / change tunes or reset codes or is that only used initially to set up tune.

    What is this arch oil?

    I never heard of it.

What does it entail to clean the turbo?

    Thanx.

    Hey man.

I plugged in the unlock cable and it reset just fine.

I drove around for while and no codes
    for now anyway.

I also put sum hotshot secret additive in the fuel tank to mayb clean out sum garbage in the turbo snake oil maybe.

We shall see if and how long this works
or if I’ll end up having to fix turbo/ actuator or something else who knows

    Thanx again for your input.
