    Question After Exhaust Install

    2015 2500 Cummins.

After I did my 5” turbo back with muffler and changed the oil I get a little blue smoke.

I did change from delo to Rotella T6.

It’s a different smell out the exhaust as well.

    Thanks for the help.

    Josh

Might be the oils used to lube the pipes for bending and to keep the parts from rusting before install.

With the 5" the exhaust doesn't flow as fast and might take a little longer to burn off.

I was thinking that, but now I see people also get it with Rotella oil.

I have been running Rotella T6 for the past 5 years, no blue smoke or odor.

Like said above - might possibly be due to the very light oil coating on the new exhaust - If ya can take her out on the highway or interstate for a few miles to get the new piping heated up - this might help speed up the (burning off) process. (Might)..

Unless you have some serious blow-by - I can't see this being caused by the change in oil brands.

    Thinking exhaust.

I do get a small puff of blue ish smoke on start up but think that’s normal being “tuned”.

The oil burning smell is what has me worried.

Not a daily driven truck either.

I have been running Rotella since I bought the truck new.

When I swapped over to a 4” FLO~PRO exhaust it did have a different smell till all the production oil burnt out.

It’s not a good odor glad it’s all burnt out.

Ok so today during warm up I noticed burn smell and a little smoke out the tailpipe, but the the EB on. As soon as I turn the EB off the little smoke and smell go away. So thinking with the exhaust brake on and extra back pressure for warm up it’s maybe burning from my CCV?

If this is the case I would be replacing my stock CCV filter. Or are you venting it?
