I just did a turbo swap on mine and was surprised at the amount of film the turbo vanes had.

First filter was replaced at 67k per manual and upon checking the replacement after seeing that and 20k miles it was noticeably heavy and straight black.

I am not sure how much more it would hold.

I gutted my new filter and have heater hose run below the truck now.

I really didn’t want to replace one every 15k with my oil which is why I chose this route.

Pic is factory charger with 87k miles.
    I'm ponderin that myself.

    How did you route yours?

    Good stuff.... Truckers bring it

Just a piece of 3/4 heater hose to passenger frame rail.

No sir- just over the manifold toward intake like factory.

Just keep on goin past the intake pipe.

Notice no grid heater wires in there either (from other thread).
