    Service ABS/Service 4WD Help - 2015 RAM 2500 G56

    2015 RAM 2500 with a G56 trans and 45k miles.

I had the coolant and trans fluid changed at a local garage.

The mechanic informed me he didn’t over fill it by a quart like most people do.

So last night after a couple days of driving I added the extra quart.

I have no idea if it’s related to my problem but this morning I get in the truck to go to work and I fired the truck up and I noticed the dash don't like it does when it gives a message.

It went away before I could see it. So I cut the truck off and repeated the process.

For just 2 seconds the “service 4wd” message shows when I hit the key, it goes away even before the truck is actually cranked. after the truck is running the “service ABS shows for another 2 seconds and goes away.

On the way to work I made a stop and when I went to crank the truck it wouldn’t turn over.

After a couple tries i got it turn over.

I feel like this is gonna be a huge headache, any info or advice would be much appreciated.

Check your batteries and have each one load tested separately.

These trucks do weird things when voltage is just even slightly low.

I will check them this evening.

Hopefully two new batteries will fix it.

I’m supposed to leave on a camping trip with my camper tomorrow. of course this would happen the day before.

I did notice on the digital voltage readout on the dash, the truck has 11 volts at idle, and when cranking it displays “8 volts” for a split second.

    Sounds low to me.

Great advice from watersupply189, sounds like you have a bad battery. Even if only one battery load tests bad replace both. Never good to mix new and old batteries in parallel.

Well, drivers side battery was bad.

Replaced both and it fixed the error messages (knock on wood) I’ll be setting sail in the morning.

    Thanks for the help guys.
