    EGR/DPF Questions

I bought this 2008 used from a dealer.

Well I crawled under the truck to look at the DPF, but there’s a pipe in its place.

The weird thing is the EGR valve is still plugged in under the hood.

So I don’t know if there are tunes currently installed on the truck.

Is there anyway for me to know exactly if there are?

I’m assuming they just did something to the ECM for it to take out the use of the DPF.

I don’t want to purchase an “off-road” device for it to brick the ECM not work.

I don’t even see where the unlock cable plugs in, to see if anything is plugged in it’s place.

The unlock cable plug for an 08 isn't under the intake horn.

It's further back near the firewall.

Being an 08 it could have one of many tuners downloaded that didn't need to use the unlock cable.

I didn't use it on my 2012 until upgrading to Switch Tuning on my MM3.

Yep I found the unlock cable plug location.

Also did some research on the DPF filter deletion.

Based on what I’ve read as long as I have an updated stock file to program the truck I’m good to go?

@DRD any legitimacy to this claim?
