I got it pretty leveled out.

I'm still waiting for my wheels to come in.

I have some 35x12.50s sitting in the garage waiting to be mounted.
    Oh yeah, looking good!

Just wait until you install the wheels and tires.

    It will look awesome!

I did the whole Carli setup with the Synergy HD steering kit.

Also replaced the steering gearbox with a redhead gearbox.

    Very pleased with the results.

Truck runs great on the highway and just as nice off road.

I got the Carlie front springs, sway bar, and shocks finally installed.

Also replaced the junk Moog tie rod with a new synergy one.

Found that the driver-side steering knuckle taper was worked out.

Apparently, Mopar quit making them this year so buying a new one was not an option.

I had to have a local machine shop make a new taper sleeve to fix it.

I installed the Carlie add a pack of springs and shocks in the rear than to manage better heavier loads added their long travel airbags.

    All went in fairly easily.

I need to weld the lower airbag brackets so they don't spin on me when I load it down.

How do you like the Carli add-a-packs?

Any reason besides price you didn’t go with the full Deaver leafs?

So far, they are great. I have intentionally gone over a few sharp bumps in the road that used to make the whole *** end of the truck jump and skip a little.

Needless to say, it is still a pretty hard bump, but it is not nearly as bad.

I can maintain better control of the truck for sure.

I would have gone with the full springs, but as you said, they cost more.

I'm pretty sure that Deaver makes these add packs for Carlie, if I'm not mistaken.

Honestly, out of all the Carlie stuff I have installed on there now, the airbags have given me the most trouble.

That being said, I was able to fix it with 10 bucks worth of different bolts and an angle grinder in about 45 mins.

    Right on.

Carli products are top-notch, that's for sure.

I have been thinking about getting a set myself, although I really want the full Deaver's as everyone says they ride amazing, but I don't want to lose my load capacity, which could be resolved with a set of airbags, but it just adds another expense.

Buy once cry, I suppose. LOL.

Well, I can tell you about the springs and airbags.

Combo gives a great ride and keeps the load capacity just fine.

Last weekend I had two cubic yards of dirt in the back of the truck.

It was enough to fill the bed to about 4 inches below the rails.

It was pretty moist from all the rain we have been getting, so the weight was a solid 4000 lbs.

I put about 25psi in the bags, and the truck stayed level and still rode great.

I have found it likes having some weight in the back anyway.

It handles and rides better than empty.

Re: Carli Ball Joints And Track Bar

Resurrecting a very old thread, but I finally got around to putting in the new Carlie control arms.

It took me about 5 hours to do, with a brake in the middle.

It is a pretty straightforward job, and I could do it alone.

There were a few things I learned during the process.

First, you can torque all the bolts down as you go but leave the bottom adjuster bolts loose until you get that last bolt in.

When installing each arm, put the frame side bolts first, then bring the axel to the arm.

That will leave you installing the adjuster bolts last on each side.

When putting in the last adjuster bolt, I had a hard time getting it to line up, but I found that you can adjust the opposite side adjuster bolt to help twist the axle into position and align the holes.

Remove the exhaust down the pipe when putting it in the passenger side upper arm.

I know that is a pain to do, but getting that bolt out with that pipe installed is almost impossible.

Lastly, it says it in the directions, but it deffinately is necessary to use some penetrating oil on all the hardware a day or two before.

I use Aerokroil, and it's fantastic stuff.

I soaked them down about a week before and drove on them, reapplying each day once I got home from work.

Soak it down on the nut side, bolt side, and inside the joint.

Then, before you remove the nuts, take a wire brush and scrub down the exposed threads to clean all the dirt oit of them.

It makes the bolts come right out, especially when you can get some movement from everyday driving.

Lastly, take off that bracket that holds the brake lines to the axle.

Having that loose gives you just a little more room to move and the ability to move the limes out of the way of wrenches.
