I thought I would share my story.
It all started this morning, October 1st, 2020. I drove my truck to my brothers repair shop, equipped with a great assortment of tools (I brought most of the needed tools to not infringe on him while he's working) and a lift capable of handling 3/4 and 1 ton trucks with ease.
I'll get right to the point.... I got all the stock stuff removed, gasket surfaces all cleaned up, new solenoid pack installed in the Revmax billet valve body and torqued to spec.
During removal I had removed the shifting linkage from the shift lever and popped the clip not realizing that I just lost all my adjustment, then reinstalled it.
So I then proceeded to install the new valve body, careful to line up the shift lever with the shifting fork on the valve body.
Got it all lined up, and reached down to grab a bolt.
Somehow, the valve body dropped a little on the driver side. No big deal, I'll just put it back up.
Well yall know what happened next. I started tightening bolts.
All the while, I'm kinda wondering why in the world is this thing moving so much. Ah, I attribute it to compressing the solenoid seal.
Proceed Click click, thump. The whole valve body shutters a bit.
I immediately knew something was terribly wrong.
I unzipped the bolts as fast as I could and that pin, that little shift pin fell out on the floor.
If you are familiar at all with the inside of that tranny, you can not get the shift lever out of the transmission without a complete teardown.
There just isn't enough room.
Well, thankfully after I started breathing again, we gathered some tools and very carefully extracted the rest of the pin, drilled and tapped the hole and installed a custom machined pin that threads in with a nut on the back.
I should have taken pictures of the finished project.

Long story short pay attention or it could cost you big big money.
