    Cold Air Boxes

I’m looking to buy a cold air box.

I have had my order and paid for for a banks but kept getting pushed back month after month when it would be in, so cancelled my order and got a refund.

I have read they are the best but I am wanting one now.

Anyone know of an air box just as good or better that I can get within a few days of ordering and paying for one?

I don’t have an answer for you as far as which one to buy, but unless you’re going with super high horsepower numbers from what I’ve read the stock airbox flows pretty well.

Stock cold air intake boxes are better than the aftermarkets.

Agree with the above! Not worth the expense unless you just like the look.

Have a Banks, got it the same reason you said was supposed to be the best.

Be honest all it did was make my exhaust brake and turbo time alot louder, that's it.

Not going to say I am not happy with it, but it's not a you put this in and you feel the difference.

If you are looking for that, yeah get one otherwise just get a non oiled drop in air filter from AFE or Airaid.

Yeah, Airaid has a nice intake for half the price, with just the intake down pipe and filter.

So you reuse your stock box and get rid of the baffled foam cone.

Even K&N has the same setup but I won't buy a oiled filter.

I have an AFE intake with an outerwear on mine and I like it. When the exhaust brake starts to work, I think you'll like the small investment. Shoot me a PM or email if you want me to see what we have in stock.

    Re: Cold Air Boxes

A cold air intake is designed to pull air from outside the engine compartment.

Look at the air inlet fro your stock filter.

It's originally designed as a cold air intake.

The limitation of this box will be if you have an engine that can develop 700 HP or more.

As to the aftermarket intake kits.

I have had stock and aftermarket kits.

Not all are a true Cold Air Filter, just see where they pull all the air from.

Many are called cold air, but like K&N design, they actually pull in engine compartment hot air.

I vote save your money and get a quality dry filter.
