Look at your supports on the side too to make sure they didn’t fracture.

I recommend a ranch hand front bumper.

I’ve hit over a dozen deer big and small with my past two truck and have only had to replace 2 fog lights.
Speaking of bumpers and brush guards, have heard a couple people say you need to add stiffer springs up front if you add a heavy duty bumper even without a winch.

    Thoughts?

I installed a Hammerhead front bumper but didn’t change the springs.

    I think it’s about 300 lbs.

After installing it, my truck still had a slight rear rake to it.

I haven’t had the pleasure of hitting any deer yet, but I figured the cost of the Hammerhead would probably be the cost of my first deer strike.

It’s not a matter of “if” but “when” it happens.

I went with road armed no extra supports.

They are 3/16 thick with 1/4 in mounts.

The bumper bolts also hold the intercooler so if you replace it soon you can check on it close up or upgrade.

I mean it’s apart anyway right?

Front Bumper upgrades are getting more important these days (I Feel) - especially for those of us who live in these over populated deer areas.
Some of these HD designs will really save alot of major damage from occuring. (Especially when those lucky ones come in contact with a much larger mature deer).

Also a select few of these designs offer some great extra lighting opportunities --->
My old eyes just can't focus that well any longer on those dark country roads at night.

Tugvi: You seem to have taken good advantage of this!

Harleyhoracio: I'll bet those Pods really brighten up the road.

Sadly - Installing one of these Godzilla Bumpers would keep me from utilizing the cover of our garage and I didn't pay $56K for my new Ram for it to - sit out in the elements 24/7! (stock bumper allows me 3" between the back bumper and garage door closing).

Lighting options are plenty for the bumpers, however I seem to be blinding a lot of oncoming traffic with my setup.

I’m constantly turning off and on the extra lights to avoid doing this out of respect and I surely don’t want to cause an accident.

Once I use the bumper lights for a while and have to shut them off.

My headlights really suck and I can’t see crap in front of me.

Unfortunately it’s slim pickings for headlight replacement options for 2008 models.
