LEDs for Step Side Nerf Bars

Been running some ideas around, possible want to install LEDs for the factory step bars.

Was wondering if possible I could tap into the factory plow wireing?

Specifically the low beam lights for plowing.

So as long as my lights were on the running boards lights would be on.

If anyone has any better setups love to see them, also really don't want to do a switch setup.

Synergy Steering brace, Draglink, & Tie Rod, Thuren front leveling coils & Track bar, 5160 Bilstein Shocks, Banks CAI intake, LED everything, projector headlights, dieselfuelfilterkits, Steelcraft Line-x Door Sills, Elevation Front Bumper with Line-x Pro.

ive got my strips tied into the footwell lighting/dome. They come on during unlock/lock with keyfob and when door(s) are open. They dim down when they shut off also.

Are you wanting to run them full time plowing?

I did the same as @TexNeck and tied them in to the dome light so they came on at unlock, entry and exit. The trick is keeping the wiring to the lights tucked up high so they don't get snagged off-road.

No I don't plow, I just wanted to know if that was a viable spot to hook up some LEDs.

Pretty much looking to do exactly what you did.

Was just looking at the plow wires since I will never plow and wouldn't mind splicing into them since they are pre installed to make it look cleaner.

That is what I want to do, something really clean and simple.

I really thought our trucks came with factory LED running boards.

If they did I would just tap into that.

My last truck was a '12 and did not have factory lights for the running boards, just the little spot lights under the mirrors.

The newer trucks have them, my '19 Longhorn does, depending on the trim.

I wonder if the wiring is tucked up somewhere.
