Thread: $0280 Code

    $0280 Code

I got a $0280 code on a 2013 Cab and Chassis truck tuned and deleted with EFi Live and it got 125,945 kms on it.

It was acting up the last couple days first thing in the morning no boost and lots of smoke shut off and restart and sometimes it fixes it but this morning nothing till the third try then off it went.

That code is an error from EFi Live.

Can you scan the truck with a scanner?

Sounds like maybe the Turbo Actuator failed.

    Re: $0280 Code

I have another turbo actuator here from the previous engine that was in this truck can I just switch it over without having to calibrate it with a scanner?

No, once the actuator is removed from the turbo it must be calibrated. You could calibrate with Alfaobd software and OBDLink Bluetooth adapter.

OR purchase a self calibrating actuator like the one from City Diesel.

    Re: $0280 Code

So if I change the whole turbo and actuator from my last engine I should be okay then I won't need to do anything with a scanner?

Yes. The City Diesel actuator that we sell is the only actuator that doesn't need calibration.
