No idea why the pully came off. Pump is in perfect shape, the pully slides on about 1/3 of the way on the shaft without any issue, must just be pressed on. Here is a couple pics of the pump that failed, you can see some galling on the shaft, something had to cause some resistance for the pully to spin off the shaft or it was just a bad pully or shaft that did not fit right.

The NAPA pumps do not have the weep hole in case anyone was wondering.

Figure I will replace the pump at some point soon with the gates one after it arrives.

It’s a shame about your spare pump.

I don’t know why NAPA is still selling the pumps without a weep hole, must be trying to get rid of old stock.

I hope they fired the stupid engineer who managed to convince FCA to specify a water pump without a weep hole.

What a bone head move that was!
