    I forgot I had this thread.

    The VGT actuator went out on me last week.

    Revamped my entire mindset back to reality and got the Iron Horn 364/1.0 on order from @DDP.

    They've been great to deal with.

    It came down to doing it as cheaply as possible, TBH.

    I will either sell my VGT here or go back to BD and recoup some of the cost.

    2017 2500 Laramie: DRD Juiced, 5" TBE, Invisible EGR mod, BD Iron Horn 364sxe/1.0AR, 20x10 Hostile Sprockets, 33x12.50 General Grabber A/T, HID Conversion, Reverse Level 2" Drop CSS Rear Coils

    How do you like the 364SXE?

    I just read this discussion; I’m in the same boat.

    I'm looking for that balance of fun daily and a lot of moderate towing (12-15k).

    I have a 2022, and I'm interested in 2nd Gen Swap and have been researching turbo sizes.

    If you have the money to do it right, go all out!

    If you're trying to do it cheaply, be realistic with your fuel situation.

    @DDP and @DRD were a great help in dialing in which direction to go.

    I did just end up selling it back to BD with their buy back program.

    I was looking at Philips Fab set up, but I haven't settled on turbo size yet, leaning towards S300, maybe S364.

    I'm not sure how different the 5th Gens are, but if you want a D300 turbo, you can probably do a 3rd Gen style swap for much less money.

    I have no clue if that is an option for the 5th Gen since mine is 2017, and that is all I'm familiar with.

    If you do a 2nd Gen swap, you will want to take full advantage of moving the turbo location and do an S400 turbo.

    Then, picking a size is all down to power goals and if you will leave the fuel system stock or do injectors, fuel pump, lift pump, etc.

    Also, if you have big power goals, keep your stock transmission in mind.

    That will be another significant cost when it inevitably blows up.
