Cool This Most Important Things For Your Truck

So I could not find a thread like this.

I wanted to make a thread for ALL Members to view.

So my hope is to get a thread going from you all on in "your" opinion what are some of the aftermarket parts that are a must to you.

Products that are not just for looks.

Products that help and effect the engine, drivetrain, shafts, brakes, comfort or safety and towing items that are a must.

I'm not wanting this thread to turn into a look what I got and all exterior appearance pictures.

There are many people on here that could benefit from a big list of what other members think is a must, then we can all do some research.

Remember this is what you think.

I know you guys are good folks but please do not start a brand war, Respect everyone's thoughts.

Thank you let's get this going.

First off, Good maintenance, Oils change them per your environment and usage per manual. Don't forget to pop the hood and check fluids weekly. Filters change them as needed or per manual.
Keep a extra fuel and air filter in truck as a minimum .

Better fuel filtering there are a ton of options. I will add more when i have more time

I have always believe in installing certain parts for engine life, before starting on any other concern.

    1) Engine oil bypass filter
    2) Coolant bypass filter
    3) External fuel pre-filter & final filter (2 micron)

Then I sit with a cold one and figure what should be next.

Every truck I have from now on will have an AMP bed step or similar for under rear bumper that drops down.

AMP Power steps (pricey but great for wife, kids, dogs, and getting older.

I’m not partial to AMP but have had success with them which is why I mention the brand.

B&W stow and go or a similar hitch is really nice for when I tow since I’ve got 2” and 2 5/16” I pull regularly.

4th gen headlights/lighting desperately need upgrading - both reflector housing and projector housing alike.

Whether it's a full housing replacement like the Morimoto, or at least HID bulbs.

EDIT: And tuning + delete are an absolute must

I wholeheartedly agree - Any add on to aid in preventive maintenance - Along with both Transmission Pan / Differential Covers with drain plugs (lowest point) & easy access fill plugs.

Headlights & Fog lights (Driving lights) need to be a top priority - My 2017 dual quads is horrid (High Beams are decent)

Every new 3/4 & 1 tons - should come with every towing option available - no exceptions - from the manufacture.

These plastic side radiator tanks have to stop - also put a true dedicated drain plug - along with a radiator twist off cap (Up Top)

EDIT: So far to this day - My most critical addition was the ATS 68RFE Thermal ATF By-Pass Delete Block!
Also - Myself thinks the high cost of the (Proper) OEM fuel filters is stupid!
I'm going to install the kit from dieselfuelfilterkit.com - With the addition of the Donaldson Blue DBF5814 or 17 - due to the Aluminum Baldwin Base.
Along with the KOFIL filter kit for the rear (water separator) & front engine filter.

Thanks everyone for posting what you think is a must, it helps even if you think well this is obvious must, someone might not be thinking about it or possibly considering it and you helped them out.

Shocks and steering damper are in order.

Mine feels rough with stock setup.

    Anything to smooth it up!

Meticulous maintenance and I'm thinking the truck should last a real long time.

Longevity is my top priority though...and then ride quality!

My list after proper maintenance would be proper delete & tune then head studs.

This summer was hotter than usual sold me on a Mishimoto radiator and intercooler upgrade.

Everything else on my list isn't considered a must have just improvements over what Cummins gave us until I get it where I want it.
