You new 5th gen guys seeing issues with the CP4's?
I hear there is a lot of failures.
Nothing like a 3rd Gen.
Eat your hearts out. LOL

Pumps eta is end of September early October.
We have torn apart both pumps as instructed by FCA and inspect the inside.
Both pumps showed signs of water inside it.
The one thing we have been telling people are to do more frequent rear filter swaps and not to use additives.
Most additives have some kind of water dispersants which mix in the water and get past the filters because it’s an oil base once it mixes.

Totally avoid those diesel fuel additives that claim to be (Emulsifiers)
I use a additive that is considered a (Demulsifier)

I run a bottle of stanadyne lubricity through every now and then, and stanadyne all season has actually worked really well for me in the winter.
Supposedly slicks up the fuel without taking emulsified water for a ride.
I also have an airdog 165 with a sump to push fuel, instead of relying on the CP4 to pull it all.

I myself have been using Alliant Power - Lubri & Ultraguard since the 5K mile mark (4oz per 15gal fill up)
I think it is the exact same formulation as the Stanadyne.
When I can find Opti-Lube or HSS on sale with a coupon code - I will purchase what I can.
I just feel better with these added.

I dont wanna take this too far off so I'll save the video for another time if I can find it of a test I seen. I cant remember all the brands even, or exactly all they tested. But it was for sure winter gel, and lubricity. I always use to run howes til I seen this. Howes lubricity tested worse than untreated fuel. So much so they ran the test twice to confirm. And fuel with nothing in it had less wear then the howes treated fuel did. Overall hot shots was the best but stanadyne was a close second. If I can find the video, maybe I'll start a thread with it sometime.

Any testing results of HFFR or Diesel Fuel Filtering - I'm totally interested in
In the US the ASTM D975 limit is 520 µm, in Europe the EN 590 limit is 460 µm, while the World Wide Fuel Charter recommends a maximum wear scar of 400 µm.
The standard HFRR test
In the HFRR test a small sample of the test fuel is placed in a temperature controlled bath, submerging the contact between a steel ball and flat steel disc. The temperature is set to 60°C and the humidity is controlled and noted. The ball is then lightly loaded with two Newton and moved back and forward (reciprocated) over the disc at a set stroke and frequency. The friction coefficient, fuel temperature and electrical contact resistance are monitored throughout the test.
After 75 minutes, the wear scar diameter on the ball is measured in both parallel and perpendicular to the sliding direction and the mean wear scar is taken.
