    Miss My 2nd Gen Cummins

    She was quite a project.

I bought it from some kid the pretty much just drove around and dumped smoke from the stack. 230k miles but I got it for 4500.

Rebuilt the tranny, new torque converter, FASS 150, edge tuner, 4-inch lift, cm flatbed, 3rd gen bumper, I did all the bodywork.

    Pretty much new interior.

I ended up with like 18k in it and sold it for 12k cash.

My sister sends me a video last week of the kid who bought it towing a 20ft enclosed lawn trailer.

Something I just should have kept.

I can relate I miss my 2nd gen every day.

It wasn't anything special, just a tuner, straight pipe and CAI.

It was a 2500 QCLB 5 spd manual.

Reliability and fuel economy were awesome.

I am happy with my 18 Laramie CCSB but there is something that doesn't quite fill the empty spot left when I sold my 2nd gen.

Finances at the time forced me to sell it and I have regretted it ever since.

The more I think on it my 2nd gen was the truck I had when my kids were growing up.

The one we took vacations in with the travel trailer.

I will have to take a few more trips with the grandkids in the Gen4.

At Least your kids will be raised in a diesel house LOL.

Hopefully the next owner is enjoying it!

Old thread, just have to say, this was a nice make-over you completed

In times when selling in the past, you tend to let the future get the best of us.

Always time to build another, though.

    Excellent job on this project.
