Welcome! I don’t have a 68RFE but I’m sure others that do will chime in shortly.

i have a 2014 and I see around 170to180 while driving if I’m towing I’ll see high 180s if it’s stop and go it might get to 190s but as soon as I start moving and get the torque converter locked it goes back down. I also have revmax valve body and a bd deep pan.

170-190 before the bypass. Low speed towing was the worst.
Now I range from 130-160 running empty depending on outside temp and 170-180 while moving slow and towing.
150's towing on the flats.

With bypass and deep pan my trans never gets to 160 towing 10k on a 90 degree day in stop and go traffic.
Below is a picture of my gauge summery while towing my fifth wheel.
Outside temp 78, trans temp 138, speed 75 mph pulling in 6th.
Empty cruising at 85 in the summer my trans stays about 130.
Towing 6500lbs in winter 105 degrees.

You guys running the bypass do you worry about trans temps in the winter not getting up to operating temps I live in Pa and it can get pretty cold in the winter I don’t drive the truck to much in the winter?

Yes, could be a concern in extreme cold weather.
Here is another option to bypass when you need it and have the option of a thermostat during extreme cold.

I live in Oklahoma - Winter temps do get to 0-10*F a few times during the winter months & add a 20-30mph wind behind that - it's flippin cold.
My Ram is kept in the garage most of the time but when at work - she sits outside for 12 hrs.
I have a 15 mile highway drive to work - Temps the past 2 winters normally get to 110*F - not much higher.
Summer time - we get up to 104*F (not everyday but it does) - My temps have not gone over 160*F. (Not towing)
I have not towed a med/heavy load - since install of the ATS.
I have to to remind myself - I have never read about or heard about any transmission failing overtime due to running below OEM normal operating temp.
On the other hand there is a book of reports of transmissions overheating or just running hot to many times.
I was instructed by my service mgr - As long as the ATF temps get to 95*F your in good shape - it seems that's the magic temp where the anti-wear additive package (begins) to be at its fullest potential for maximum wear protection (95-180*F) - If that makes sense.
Full Synthetic ATF might even have a more broader range.
