    Re: CCV Delete/Options?

I decided to leave my filter after researching this and reading Rays comments.

Going the full 67,500 that the factory has it programmed is way too long.

I changed mine at 34,000 and it was already soaked pretty good.

So I’ll be changing mine every 25,000 miles.

$60 for the filter isn’t bad but I also only put 10,000 miles a year on my truck.

2018 Ram 2500 Megacab 4x4 68RFE, Delmonico red/canyon brown, 18x9 Black Rhino Sierra, Revmax 550 tranny, Revmax Stage 5 TQ converter, Revmax billet flex plate, Revmax billet input shaft, flo-pro muffler, DRD tuned w/ MM3, Glacier EGR delete, XDP throttle valve delete, Synergy steering box brace, B&W, Frontier front-end replacement, Bakflip MX4 bedcover, Weathertechs

Yup, emailed Ray and he suggested 30k mile intervals for the CCV filter. Just gonna have to plan on that being a new norm for servicing. Thanks for the input fellas!

25K intervals is what I've been preaching as my plan the whole time.

You're correct, 67,500 is too long IMO.

FWIW I have a catch can between CCV filter and air intake and have gone 70,000 without getting any oil in the can.

I change filter out around 60,000 typically.

Is your turbocharger pulling a vacuum on your CCV filter as it does when stock?

AK Bob yes...at least it should be as the catch can is a sealed unit.

So your catch can is installed between the CCV filter and the turbo inlet correct?

    Re: CCV Delete/Options?

AK Bob yes that is correct.

My truck has a coolant tank up front by the radiator so I mounted a catch can to the back of the battery box on the passenger side.

The hose from the CCV filter to catch can, hose from the catch can inlet in air intake ahead of the turbo.

The catch can I have has a little dipstick sealed with an o ring which makes it easy to check.

I haven't needed to empty it in 260,000 miles.

The only time I ever got anything in it was before I removed the EGR valve.

I had it disabled with a tuner and unplugged but after a few hundred miles the catch can be over half full of water.

That's what made my mind up to remove the EGR valve.

That’s a heck of a run. I replaced my filter at 67500 and turbo inducer was a mess. I cleaned and replaced the filter. About 80k did turbo swap and my filter was heavy and inducer had light coat of oil after only 14k miles or so. I deleted during turbo swap. Filter replacement was fleet guard so it was a quality filter
