Pressure Vents In The Back Of The Cab

Anyone ever had issues with the pressure vents on the back of the cab between the cab and bed?

Mine has been leaking a lot of dust and when I took the interior out to clean it all up I found that the flap part of it had fallen or was taking off by the body shop.

Just wondering if this issue has happened to any one if they fell off.

No issue that I have witnessed!

I will now watch closely after each bath & rain storm.

Though i I have never touched them in the past.

I’ve never had an issue or heard of someone with this one before now. I am guessing it may have to do with the body shop visit

There are two of them, left & right.

Once the flap is broken you will certainly have issues.

Some of which depend on how you use your HVAC.

My back seat is removed so I see them in plane view.

I also run my airbag air lines thru one of the vent slots.

    They are rather cheaply made.

I have the “updated” style (68323649AB).

    They have one-piece flappers.

They are also used on 2018+ Wranglers.

To the point where they appear to accept additional cover.

    Can anyone confirm this?

Not sure I understand your question, are you asking if there is a cover that can be added on?

These vents automatically open to allow the cab air to escape when closing the doors.

Any kind of cover would defeat the purpose of this vent.

I am not looking to block them.

There are tabs/hooks on the outer rim of the vent.

It appears that a protector of some sort can snap on the outside of the vent.

I was just wondering if there was a louvered shroud/cover that the Jeeps use.

If so, was there enough clearance between the bed and cab for them to fit on the trucks?

Re: Pressure Vents In The Back Of The Cab

It's not the broken flap that is the leak issue; it's the seal itself.

The leak is around the perimeter seal.

Just order new ones and replace them both.

You must remove the back seat and remove or tape up the black pad on the back.

Wiggle them through the holes (new vents, will fit be patient) and pull them in.
