Just FYI guys, 15W40 is not recommended for the 2019+ trucks. I found that in a TSB.
They say that it causes deposit build up on the hydraulic lifters...
So use either 10w30 or 5w40 depending on climate.
Yeah I saw that when these trucks came out.

Right on.
My order of same just came and the jury will be outas they say $$$.
Yes had to swallow twice err ya'll know what I mean.
I'm 50 something and quite comfortable in my hetero self, LOL, but am told it's all that and a bag of fries.
We'll see.
Yes I enjoys me some self deprecation.
Happy hour starts now!
The 5th Gen trucks need 5w-40 or 10w-30 don’t use 15w-40 in it.
I have seen one issue so far with people using 15w-40.
I am tuning Schaffer’s 9000 5w-40 and a Mopar filter on 15k intervals and no issues at all at 50k.

@Sisupower - I Retract my ramblings and state - In Texas run either of 3 HDEO viscosity's! (15W-40 / 5W-40 / 10W-30).
I won't go into brands - Today, HDEO is mostly of the Highest Quality (I personally am Not a fan of the ones with the SN Rating).
The hardest choice will be whether to go with a Conventional or Synthetic HDEO!
After researching these New High Output (HO) 6.7L - I can say ---> I would never have thought such a big powerful motor would be said to be HDEO viscosity sensitive - due to the so-called very tight / much smaller upper valve train clearances.
So a much lighter viscosity HDEO is recommended - 10W-30 (Nothing Wrong with this Viscosity).
I myself would have a hard time - being told I could only run 1 viscosity of HDEO in my new $80K HO 6.7L.
Those who are lazy and have the quick lube places change their filters and oils - beware and pay close attention to what viscosity is actually being poured into your expensive HO 6.7L.
Especially if you live in a freezing climate - most of the year!
I feel it's only the High Output 6.7L (Hydraulic Roller Lifters) - that is Oil Viscosity Sensitive. (What a Fiasco this will become)!

I appreciate the input.
It sounds like everyone is on the same page.
My local Cummins dealer has a good stock of LF16035 oil filters, and I get a discount because I work for Cat.
So I think I will go with that filter.

I am in Central Florida.
I have a 2014 6.7L with 108k miles with full factory emissions.
I am looking at trying 15W40 Schaeffer full synthetic with added Zinc.
Any thoughts on this verse 5W40 synthetic?
It may be a coincidence, maybe not, but all the lifter failures I’ve seen in the new 6.7s, the owners were using 15-40.
I’d stick to the 5-40 or 10-30 they call for.

Schaeffers HDEO is all Top Tier - I would still be running the Series 9000 5W-40 - but my local dealer (Retired & Moved) away.
Their proprietary Penetro / Micron Moly is a very high quality (Friction Modifier).
His local (In Shop Prices) were very competitive with other High-End Synthetic HDEO ($26 a gallon) - Purchasing this same oil online is Ridiculously Expensive!
The newer OTR Plus 9000 5W-40 is a Very Stout / Robust oil - if you don't mind the higher costs.
I also added 1 16oz bottle of Moly EP #132 with every OCI - (Just my OCD)
My recommendation: Run either 15W-40 (Semi-Synthetic) or Their 5W-40 (Full/100% Synthetic) with Full Confidence!
Even Schaeffers OTR Plus 10W-30 would be a solid choice as well - even though you don't have the H.O. 6.7L.
NOTE: Best to find a Local (Jobber or Dealer) - Online prices are Stupid Ridiculous Expensive!
Just don't skimp on cheap filters!
Good Luck - Every Schaeffers Product is of the Highest Quality!
NOTE: Just my Opinion - If you have the High Output 6.7L (Limited to the the 1 Tons) - run only a HDEO 10W-30 or 5W-40.
If you have a regular lower output 6.7L - you can run any of the 3 HDEO viscosity's - I was told by my service MGR that the 10W-30 was only used for CAFE - MPG increase - If any increase is ever shown!
IF YOUR STILL UNDER WARRANTY - RUN WHAT YOUR MANUAL RECOMMENDS!
