Leveling Kit VS Coil And Shock Lift

    I just bought a 2018 2500 Crew Cab Laramie.

The previous owner had a level kit installed.

It looks to be a spacer on top of the spring with the factory shock.

Nothing that I would consider quality but I could be wrong.

I would like a Thuren or Carli setup, but the price is more than I want to spend at the moment.

Am I okay with the spacer lift or should I get out of it ASAP?

    Thanks everyone.

I’ve got the Thuren 2” level on my 19 2500 and all I can say is the ride is way better than stock.

I’ve got rough country on my wife’s 17 Ecodiesel with over 50,000 miles with no issues.

Although my wife says 2500 rides like a Cadillac since we put 35 Toyo AT3 and Thuren coils, hope this was helpful.

    Yes, thank you. Very helpful.

I see that both carli and thuren recommend new rims.

I have the 18" laramie rims and like them alot.

What is the reason for new rims? I would like to upgrade to a 35" tire also.

Despite what some keyboard warriors on some of the forums say, spacer lifts aren't bad unless you're into off-roading.

If the truck never leaves pavement or well maintained gravel roads, you'll be fine.

I'm a Thuren & Carli dealer so if that's a direction you want to go, send me a PM or email and we can get you fixed up.

Re: Leveling Kit VS Coil And Shock Lift

The reason I want to go with a Thuren setup is to improve my ride quality on crappy paved roads and dirt roads.

I wouldn’t use the puck lifts for my circumstance, but they have an application.

I've got the thuren 2.75" front and 1" rear and couldn't be happier!

    The truck rides wayyy better.

After awhile you get so spoiled to how nice it rides you forget what 3/4 ton trucks ride like.

That is until I go somewhere in my buddys F250 and GM 2500 and I'm like good God these things are bouncy and stiff as hell LOL.

Not sure why they state that about the wheels.

I ran mine with my stock Laramie wheels for a few thousand miles before I got my new 35"wheels and tires with no issues.

Re: Leveling Kit VS Coil And Shock Lift

I ran spacers on my truck for the first 40,000 miles, and I hated the ride.

I bought Thuren 2.75 front springs, sway bar, front and rear track bars and fox shocks all around.

I love the ride now, are roads around here very rough, and the rest are wash board.

My wife is happy with the ride and that is everything as she is my traveling partner.

    As far as rims?

I run 33x12.5 and not heard of needing new rims running a thuren suspension.

with Fox IFP shocks, thuren sway bar, rear track bar and front track bar, Warn 12k winch , custom winch mount, REVMAX trans pan,HD valve body and thermal bypas. Leer truck topper,Exotic head studs, Engine enhancements by the cummins whisper.
