Hey all, new to the forum and new to Cummins.
I picked up a 2014 ram 5500 with about 113000kms and 3800 hrs at an auction recently.
I got it dirt cheap due to the noise from the engine.
I have a low mileage used engine to put in it but I’d like to be sure of the source of the knock before I go ahead and swap it out
What do you guys think?

Oil level was good and clean.
The cap is missing off the coolant reservoir and looked to have coolant in there.
It’s got about 48 psi oil pressure at low idle.
I haven’t got it up to proper operating temperature due to all the noise use making.
Oil may smell a bit off, but could have been all in my head too LOL.

Well I narrowed it down to l and had to pull it due to not being able to remove the oil pan.
Just as well because it’s toast.
This engine has a brand new cylinder head and during that I assume they dropped a pushrod down into the block and left it.
In turn it got twisted up and knocked off a cooling nozzle and scuffed the hole
