Cool 38’ Behind a DRD Cummins

Hey guys, I have an 18 SRW 3500 Aisin AS69RC.
MM3 LITE by DRD with over 12k miles deleted.
    MM3 EGT
    EGR Delete
    Black Market Perf- Caterpillar conversion
    5” TBE Flo Pro SS
    Throttle valve delete
    33” NITTO Ridge grapplers
    Ranch Hand legend bumper
    3:42’s

I own a 34’ enclosed triple axle trailer, 5.6k empty with an 8’6” interior height over 10 ft tall at the roof vent.

This post is for information on things I wanted to know and maybe others.

Bobtailing to Ga from Tx on the 30hp tune with tires and bumper (wind drag) I averaged 21 mpg for an 1100 miles trip.

With the trailer I pulled from Ga to Tx mostly on I-10 on the 30hp approx 1100 miles.

Due to Trailer wind drag I averaged 9.5-11 mpg. I ran Diesel Kleen octane boost, injector cleaner and lube the entire trip.

I ran with the trailer empty 65-70 mph with 6th gear locked out always, full exhaust brake and tow haul mode on ALWAYS, rpm stayed around 1800-1900 ish.

My EGT gauge is in the rear exhaust manifold block off plate, which from my understanding # 5, 6 cylinders are the hottest and Ray says the location reads true under a load.

EGT ranged from 600’s to the highest of 1093 and I watched like a hawk and backed off when needed.

Coolant 199-203, trans 163 ish oil which is an algorithm based on engine parameters was the hottest and hit a high of 212 at one point.

In December I will pull it at over 17k loaded weight for roughly 1200 miles.

I will update y’all and give a report after the trip to show comparison.

9.5 to 11 mpg with that heavy and tall of a trailer is actually pretty freaking good in my opinion.

I haven't tuned my truck yet, but with our little 20'2" camper behind me i get around 10 mpgs doing 72 mph and I'm all stock on 35s.

    Truck doesn't even notice.

    Pulls 70-75mph getting 10 mpg.

I will never get a bumper pull trailer again.

You can't even feel it back there.
